This is a new recipe from pillsbury.com…so new in fact that it is not yet up on their website!! Thanks to Pillsbury for going ahead and posting the details on Facebook! I had to share…couldn’t resist the urge!!
So looking forward to making these yummy balls of goodness!! And salted caramel sauce!?! Wowza!!
1 can (16.3 oz) Pillsbury® Grands!® Flaky Layers refrigerated biscuits
1 medium apple, cut into 3/4 inch pieces
3 tablespoons sugar
1 cup caramel dip
1/2 teaspoon coarse Kosher salt
Heat oil (2 to 3 inches deep) in deep fryer to 375°F. Separate dough into 8 biscuits. Cut each biscuit into thirds. Wrap dough around apple piece; pinch to seal.
Gently place 3 doughnut holes in hot oil. Fry 2 to 3 minutes per side or until golden brown. Cool 2 to 3 minutes.
Roll doughnuts in sugar to coat. Place on skewers and serve with caramel sprinkled with salt.
