Devil’s Food Whoopie Pies

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup buttermilk
½ cup unsweetened cocoa
6 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
1 large egg
*I did not make the frosting this time-I had store bought Whipped Vanilla Frosting that I used.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream together all ingredients for the Devil’s Food dough recipe in a large bowl with an electric mixer.
Scoop 1 tablespoon of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet or place on parchment paper-lined cookie sheet.
Space about 2 inches apart on baking/cookie sheet.
*I used the teaspoon to flatten the dough to make mine thinner than usual.
Bake for 7-10 minutes.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.
Add frosting to one whoopie pie and spread using a knife then attach the other whoopie pie on top.
