Jennay’s Sausage Balls

Everyone loves Sausage Balls!!   They just so happen to be one of my very favorite appetizers.  I usually only make them in the Fall and Winter…mostly for the holidays.  They disappear very quickly and I always have people requesting my recipe.  So here it is with some updated photos.

Oh, and by the way…I only use Neese’s sausage.  It’s the only sausage we buy!  It’s so good and they are local for me as their plant is located in Greensboro, NC which is only about 15-20 minutes away from us.  If you are local you can order online and they will deliver it to your door.   Neese’s offers regular sausage, hot sausage (our favorite), extra hot sausage, extra sage sausage, liver pudding, liver mush, country scrapple, c-loaf, souse, and bacon.   You can find them on Facebook here.

Jennay’s Sausage Balls

3 cups of Bisquick mix

1 & 1/2 lbs of uncooked sausage (I use Neese’s Country Sausage-Hot)

10-15 pepperoni slices-chopped(optional-but oh so good!)

4 cups of Mexican or Colby Jack shredded cheese

1/2 cup of parmesan cheese

1/2 cup of milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Lightly grease bottom and sides of a cookie sheet.

Mix together ALL ingredients and shape into 1-inch balls.*

Place balls onto cookie sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes.

*I usually start with the Bisquick mix, then add sausage by shredding it, then add the pepperoni, mexican cheese and parmesan cheese, then the milk.  Slowly mixing all ingredients by hand.  Make sure you get to the bottom of the bowl and mix it well.
