I hope you all had a wonderful holiday filled with joy and peace! I took some time off from the blogging world so that I could visit with my family & friends and also to have some “me” time. I love blogging, however, I do believe that we need a break from time to time. I feel refreshed and ready to get back to the daily grind now.
I was so blessed to receive so many great things from my friends this year! We have a close-knit bunch of friends and we usually don’t participate in gift exchanges, but this year we wanted to do a little something. I have some very thoughtful friends who know just what I like! I feel very fortunate for that!
New Year’s is just around the corner…are YOU ready? I’ve thought hard about the resolutions I want to make this year and I will be revealing my resolutions and my word of the year later this week so stay tuned in for that!
I’ll be busy this week preparing for New Year’s. This year Noah has to work 7pm-7am on New Year’s Eve so I’ll be without him for the ball drop this year. Sad we won’t be together, but I know that I will have fun. My friend Santa is hosting a party and bonfire at her home. So I’m excited to bring in the New Year with some friends! I’ll be making Cheese Balls, my very own Sausage Ball recipe which you can find here, Chocolate Pies, and some more Snickerdoodles!
I’m looking forward to all the festivities for the New Year…this is always one of my favorite times of the year. I hope you and yours have a wonderful start to a brand New Year!
I ❤ Regina Specktor’s “My Dear Acquaintance”. It is such a beautiful song and I just love the lyrics! I couldn’t find a video for it on her YouTube page…but I found this awesome cover by Katja Petri!
That is loving and giving
And a happy new year
With love overflowing
With joy in our hearts
For the blessed new year
For us all who are gathered here
And a happy new year to all that is living
To all that is gentle, kind, and forgiving
Raise your glass and we’ll have a cheer
My dear acquaintance, a happy new year
