Today is the day I start holding myself accountable and documenting my food intake on Instagram.
I’m not on a DIET.
I hate that four letter word.
I’m just trying to be mindful of what I do eat and trying to make healthier choices.
I will still eat pizza, tacos, and the food I love.
But now smaller portion sizes and healthier options/toppings.
If you have been following my blog…you will already know that I’ve been on this healthier kick since last August.
I decided not to weigh myself but to just focus on eating less, preparing healthier meals, and moving more {ie. that dreaded E word-exercise}.
I really don’t care to know my weight right now.
I know where I was…and I know that I don’t want to ever look back at that number again.
I have noticed that my clothes are looser than before.
I can’t tell how much weight I’ve lost, but I know I’ve lost inches…I can see a difference already {it’s been a little over 6 months-so I assume that’s a good thing}.
I’m not looking for a quick fix…I want to gradually change over time so that I’m not more prone to gaining it all back.
So by documenting my food intake on Instagram…I’m holding myself accountable for what I put in my mouth every single day-meals and snacks.
If you would like to follow me on Instagram…you can by going here.
So {take a big, deep breath in and out} here it goes:
For breakfast today:
Oat Blenders with Honey & Almonds {compared to Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds}-one serving
Only 1.5g fat, 160 calories with 1/2 cup of milk!
Absolutely delicious!!
Mid-Morning snack:
Noah fixed popcorn for a mid-morning snack!
Air-popped {old-style popping machine} WHITE corn popcorn
We <3 WHITE corn popcorn-tastes so much better than the YELLOW corn popcorn!
No butter, only a few dashes of salt!
Unbelievable how good this was to snack on-tastes so much healthier than the bagged popcorn you microwave!
Lunch:
Tuna {I like Starkist canned tuna with water-drained, light mayo, salt n’ peppa, and topped with some freshly shredded mozzarella}
and a sweet pickle {ie. midget}
I’m trying to avoid bread as much as possible…so while Noah had wheat bread, I stuck with the lettuce leaves-it was really good!
Snack:
1 medium apple
{sorry I forgot to take a photo of this one….but it was a red delicious}
Dinner:
My love wanted a country breakfast for dinner…so eggs, smoked sausage, and biscuits with gravy it was!
I used a salad plate and cut my portion sizes back-usually I would have had more than one biscuit and more meat.
All in all I did fairly well today other than not getting enough veggies in.
I’m slowly adding new veggies to my meals.
I was allowed a heavier meal today at dinner because my breakfast and lunch items were on the lighter side!
So if you want to see what I’m eating on a regular daily basis…follow me on Instagram!
I’m not going to update it everyday here on the blog, so you won’t see everything I’m eating here.

I have never heard of putting mozzarella on tuna, where I live in the south that wouldn’t be common. I am going to try it though this week, it looks wonderful. I learned something new, thank you!!
I usually add parmesan cheese to my tuna to give it some flavor…but I had fresh mozzarella and figured I would try that this time. It really does go well with the tuna! =)
I’ve been on every kind of diet. There’s the seefood diet. Then there’s the light diet that happens when I open the refrigerator door. The funniest diet scene from a movie came in “Fatso” 1980 with Dom DeLuise & Ron Carey. He joined a Fat Man’s Weight Loss Club where they all sat around talking about their favorite food until they Burst into the kitchen turned tiny Ron Carey upside down and shook him until the key from the padlocked refrigerator fell to the floor. A food orgy ensued with 4-5 300 pounders gorged themselves.
Good luck in your food discovery journey! I’ve never dieted in my life and I like to enjoy my food. I think deprivation only postpones you eating what you crave. I’m not here to give you advice but it looks like you could add some fruit in the mix. Summer has the best fruit to offer and it’s healthy for you.
I’m trying to add in more fruits and veggies! Slow process…but I’m working on it! =)
